The Nova Poshta company joined the initiative of BF “Youth 2.0” – SafePlaceUA. The second shelter was installed in Mykolaiv on November 4, 2022 with the financial support of the Nova Poshta near the Okeanivska stop, in the Korabelny district.
“Mykolaiv is my hometown, where many acquaintances and friends live. Every time I hear about his shelling, my heart is especially heavy. Therefore, we could not ignore this project. Even more, the shelter for Mykolaiv became the first, but not the only one, because New Post plans to install similar ones in other cities. Kharkiv will be next,” says Olena Plakhova, director of reputation management at Nova Poshta.
The thickness of the walls is 25 cm, the ceiling is 30 cm, the floor is 15 cm.
The structure has 10 seats, and is designed for a total of 18 people. Inside there are benches, sockets and lighting.
The peaceful life of Nikolaev is depicted on the walls of the shelter. The buildings of the city council and the chess club, the Catholic church, the Shukhov tower are the city’s business cards. The building was painted by local artist Dmytro Slepukh.
“Safeplace4UA” is an initiative of BF Yunist 2.0 to raise funds for the creation of a network of mobile street shelters.
“SafePlace” is a mobile shelter made of reinforced concrete that can accommodate and protect more than 10 people. The shelter is made taking into account all standards for anti-splinter shelters. The wall and the upper floor protect against debris and fragments, bullets, and blast waves.
The advantage in placing shelters is public places of rest, children’s playgrounds, places of mass gathering of people, etc.
