Civic activists from Odesa launched the SafePlaceUA initiative to create mobile street shelters.
They are planned to be placed in public recreation areas, playgrounds, parks, squares, public transport stops, etc.

One of the advantages of mobile shelters, the initiators say, is the minimal cost of use compared to other means of civil defense.
The SafePlace shelter is a box-shaped reinforced concrete structure. The walls are more than 25 cm thick, and the ceiling is 40 cm. Benches will be placed inside, and the doors of the shelter will be armored.
There are options for designs for 12 and 18 people. Shelters will be installed in public places using a crane. In total, the team plans to produce 1,000 shelters for different cities of Ukraine.
Safeplace is a joint initiative of the “Youth 2.0” charitable foundation and the Urban.inst association. Currently, the initiators are collecting funds to create a network of street shelters.
